American captain, 8 plus year experience, diesel motor, 22 knot cruise, Shimano and Penn tackle, fighting chair, full electronics, porta potti, Quepos

Great day. got 5 Rooster and had many hits. 2 were around 50. I will send pics when i get back to the states. might go on Weds. have to see how the sunburn nose is. wore tons of sunscreen, but you sweat it off pretty easy when your reeling in those bigger Roosters. thanks alot. John and Danny were the type of guys i like to fish with. My backs a little sore, good thing i didn't book a full day.

The fishing was a little slow, but the first day we did well, I caught a 350 to 400 blue and Charlie got a sail about 110lbs, and we each caught a small dolphin. The second day we only caught two small Bonita. The owners and John our Captain and the mate Jorge where great. Lunches where home cooked meals by John and his wife. Thanks for your help setting up the trip

I fished with John and mate Johnathan, they did absolutely EVERYTHING to try to catch fish...everything! They made it a very enjoyable time and tried to find the fish...And did we EVER! Sure, we didn't get the "6-9 Sailfish a Day" we sometimes hear about in the states, but considering it was a "Hit or Miss" week, the week I went, John was 100% keen on the water, always looking for fish-signs...not once did he or Johnathan take a break in trying to find the fish. The talley... early-on, 2 bonito... by noon, we already had 2 sails, one @ 110 pounds (A great tail-walker, that one), and the other, about 10 pounds heavier... I was happy right there! The next 2 hours, we tried to get 4 different Sails to bite that were on siesta at the surface, but no takers...Right near the end of the trip, the starboard drop-back bait was slammed by something HARD....15 minutes later, I had dinner for myself, my wife, the Captain and Crew, AND for Dale, his wife, and the crew as well! Over the rail comes a 50 pound Wahoo! THAT boy found long and hard. That night, we brought the fish to Karolas, and everyone, including the restaurants' cooks, enjoyed a 5-Star gourmet Fish dinner!!Bubba, I want to thank you for doing all you could to get me with the right Captain...and you succeeded. I highly recommend you to ANYONE!In the meantime, here are a few pics of the catch from that day!
