It’s been a tough couple days fishing out of the Los Suenos Marina. There has been some green water move in and it seems to have scattered the bite. The fish are obviously still out there if boats were raising 40 Sailfish 3 days ago. But the past few days the guys have been lucky to raise 5 or 6 Sailfish offshore.
Part of the problem is not many boats have gone out this week. The guys in the marina do a good job of communicating with each other where the fish are. But if only 5 boats go out that day they are not going to cover much ground and there is not going to be any reliable info on the bite and it’s going to take longer to find the fish.
Captain Kevin on the “Hoo’s Up” tells me he has a new idol and his name is Larry. Larry is 81 years old and fished with Kevin for 3 days. Kevin was amazed at how he moved around the boat for 3 full days…especially since it’s been choppy and a little rough out there. Larry’s 3 day total included 13 Sailfish, 2 lost Marlin, a 60 pound Mahi Mahi and some Snapper, Roosterfish, Amber Jack, Jack Crevalle, Moray Eal and a few other I don’t remember…I think we all hope to be like Larry when we are that age.
The big Marlin in the photo above was caught on the “Agwe” with Captain Tom during the first week of April. The fish was caught on 20 pound test by Andy from England was the angler…cheers mate.
