September 12, 2009 – Costa Rica fishing charters…tuna and sailfish

We had a bunch of rain yesterday afternoon and evening and the ocean near the coast was brown like mud.  The heavy rain will probably slow down the inshore fishing but it didn’t seem slow down some of the Costa Rica charter boats that went offshore.

The guys on the 42′ Maverick went out with a single angler today and had a very good day.  They started at the 26 rock and caught some live bait and then went out towards the “corner” area.  The angler wanted some yellowfin tuna and he got his wish.  They ended the day with 3 yellowfin tuna from 40 to 80 pounds and a handful of sailfish all over 100 pounds.
