May 11, 2010 – sails and marlin still around

Not much traffic around the charter docks at Los Suenos so just a few boats going out every day.  The weather has been nice, sunny and 85 during the day with a few evening showers here and there.

One of the 42’s went offshore today and went 6 for 7 on sailfish and missed 2 marlin.  The captain told me they were about 30 miles out and the seas were calm.  A few days ago these guys went 1 for 6 on sailfish and 1 for 2 on marlin.  They caught a 250 pound blue marlin.

The same day the 42′ caught their marlin my buddies were out on our boat.  They got out there late and missed a sail, missed a marlin and caught a mahi mahi.

A couple guys went inshore fishing down by Quepos on a 28′ center console and they caught 5 roosterfish on a half day trip.  Once we start getting some rain we start seeing more roosterfish.
