As Easter is just a few days away there’s going to be a lot of Tuna on the dinner tables , seems everywhere  offshore there catching big tuna’s .. sails are still out there .. we had a cple of reports on some blue marlin out there as well .. dorado is a nice fish on the plate and there’s a few big one being caught .. inshore fishing reports are coming in and snook , rooster , snapper ,corvina , jack and amber jacks .. just a little more out there bottom fishing for grouper ..  .. All charters leave the dock at 7am ..half days are 4 hrs and inshore only (bottom fish as well ).. offshore is full day 8 hrs ( marlin , sail, tuna and dorado ) please check out out our charters on our website . Well this season for Los Suenos Triple Crown billfish tournament wasn’t as good as last yrs as the water temperature was a little cold for the sail but good for the marlin and tuna .. but as report roll in the sails are coming back and the tuna seems to be everywhere .. the Papagayo winds are dying down up in the Tamarindo/Flamingo area .. down here in the Jaco/Los Suenos area and also Marina Pez Vela in Quepos reports of sails , tuna and some marlin are being caught . Inshore is doing good as well , rooster , snapper and Capt Roy the KING of snook in Quepos is catching a lot of snook as always .. if you like grouper bottom fishing is doing good , always nice to have fish for dinner .. Well we just finished the 2nd leg of the Los Suenos Triple crown 2017 , little slower then last year due to water temperature
here’s a run down on the Feb 22nd – 25th leg with some boats having all the luck and skill . The top 5 boats are
1st,Agitatorg 60 sails no marlin ,2nd Dealers Choice 51 sails no marlin ,3rd First Light 41 sails 2 marlin ,4th Big Oh 50 sails no marln
5th Southern Pride 41 sail 1 marlin.

I’m an observer for Los Suenos and we go out on a different boat every day and the 3 days of being on the water , day 1 I was on Sea Fix(Capt.John Thomas) with 10
sails no marlin 2nd day I was on Alpha Bravo (Capt. Johan Van Coller with 6 sails no marlin , 3rd day I was on Southern Pride with Capt Chris Garner with 19 sails
and 1 blue marlin , Chris was right on the ball as 2 anglers were fighting 2 sails , Chris seen the marlin out ofthe corner of his eyes and yelled PITCH BAIT which
Capt.Bob Watson was an angler , threw out the pitch bait and caught the blue marlin in 15 seconds and almost landed in the boat .If your planning on fishing up in
the Tamarindo/Flamingo area they are having agail force winds .. Down here in the Los Suenos / Marina Pez Vela area fishing is hit and miss , still some blues , sails
tuna and dorado . Next and 3rd leg of the triple crown is March 22nd-25th, 2017

Next week Feb 22nd – 25th 2017 is the start of the 2nd leg of The Los Suenos Triple Crown bill fish Tournament
reports of sails and some blue marlin are being caught . Theres still some tuna out there waiting to be on someones
dinner table and dorado as well. Our Buddy up in the Flamingo/Tamarindo area reports of some sails and blues but the
winds up there right now are day to day and choppy waters .. Both Marina’s Los Suenos and Marina Pez Vela report good
fishing its all day to day and th water temp ..if anyone would like to see the results and live go the Los Suenos web page

The 1 leg of the Los Suenos Triple Crown billfish tournament went off without a hitch
I’m an observer for Los Suenos and it’s always surprising whats going to happen we had
50 boats in this tournament . Boats can leave as soon as all the observers sigh in so
around 5:30am they start taken off .. Lines in at 8am and 4pm lines out. This year the
water temp was a little cold for the sails but we had many marlin being caught we had a
total of  997 bill fish that’s 785 sails and 212 marlin , most of the marlin where stripe
marlin .. 500 points for marlin and 100 points for sails , all bill fish are catch N release
the winner of Leg1 Its place is Xta Sea ..with 6,600 points .. 2nd place is Agitator 6,500 points
3rd place is Enjoy with 6,300 points ….. Next leg of the Los Suenos Triple Crown is Feb 22nd
through the 25th .. Local charters are reporting the same .. lots of marlin right now with the
water temp .. sails are out there as well with some tuna and dorado .. Up in and around Tamarindo
Flamingo area are some wind so please check the weather before going that way .. but here on
the Southern Pacific side ….. all sunny and great fishing .. don’t forget to check out our web page

We start off the fishing High season with some really great news , Los Suenos has their 2017
Triple Crown Billfish tournament starting Jan 18th – 21st , all Billfish are released back into the water to help
their population grow .. we have been getting reports from Capts. around Costa Rica and the BITE
is on from black , blue , and stripen marlin .. sails tuna and the dorado is coming back
Jan 12th , 2017 – 1 blue marlin (250 lbs ) , 2 strped marlin ( 125 lbs ) 6 sails , 2 wahoo , 2 dorado on 3 boats
Jan 11th , 2017 – 1 blue marlin , 5 sails , 10 tuna and 1 dorado on 2 boats
Jan 10th , 2017 – 1 blue marlin ( 350 lbs ) , 3 sails , and 1 dorado on 3 boats
Jan  9th , 2017 – 1 blue marlin (500 lbs ) 1 sail , and 3 dorado on 1 boat
Jan  8th , 2017 – 1 black marlin , 1 sail , 2 dorado and 8 tuna on 2 boats
Jan  7th , 2017 – 1 spearfish , 16 sails , 12 yellowfin tuna and 4 dorado on 4 boats
Jan  6th , 2017 – 3 black marlin  (600 , 450 , 400 lbs )  and 2 sail fish on 2 boats
Jan  5th , 2017 – 1 black marlin ,(300 lbs ) 7 sails , 8 tunaa and 3 dorado on 3 boats
Jan  4th , 2017 – 4 sails on 1 boat
Jan  2nd , 2017 – 8 sails and 3 tuna on 2 boats

Well we made it through rainy season and the Los Suenos Triple Crown Billfish tournament starts up Jan 18th – 21st 2017 season and there out there catching blues , sails , dorado and tuna .. up and down Costa Rica there back in action .. inshore fishing is good as well reports on catching snook and rooster fish , some bottom fishing for grouper

The Holidays are upon us and High season is a few weeks a way ,  we have been having some rain in the late night and early morning little bit of green water but still catching blues , sails , tuna and even the dorado are coming back .. we had a few boats go out during last weekend and all had tuna , dorado and sails .. just 2 boats caught blues .. down in Quepos there caught some snook and rooster inshore and some doing some bottom fishing for grouper . The Los Suenos Triple Crown Billfish Tournament starts Leg 1 Jan 18th-21st , leg 2 Feb 22nd-25th leg 3 March 22nd-25th 2017 .. start reserving your charters now , come high season it will get harder , please check out our web page and on the right hand side of our page you will see all our charters we have around Costa Rica , choose where you might be staying and click on the dark area of any charter and a pic , price and info will show . This week the country of Costa Rica were all on our toes .. not since 1851
has a hurricane touched down here .. we lost 10 people up in the Guanacaste
area .. we are nearing the end of rainy season and getting ready for season
Before the storm came in we had a cple of charters go out in the Flamingo
area , our 34ft went out and caught 4 sailfish and a dorado our 36ft had 6
sails
Jaco/Los Suenos area was a bit better a few choppy days so some went out 15
miles out Capt. Dana hit the jack pot and ran into some tuna .. 7 tuna, 5 sails
and 2 dorado ..our 28ft center console had 3 sails did some bottom fishing and
caught 5 grouper , 31ft center console had 4 sails missed a dorado , not much to
report.. fishing was slow due to the storm but we had much luck we are all safe
and sound , lost 4 small boats up in the Flamingo area but all Capts and mates are

Just want it to drop you a fishing report, the past couple of days we’ve caught some
yellowfin tuna ( over 20 in 2 days), a couple tunas over 65pounds,and had 3 sails and
1 marlin, water is green right now but yesterday was looking better, temperature was
good and there’s lots of bait around so we are hopeing for the fishing to get better
over the next week or so!!!
