October 1, 2010 – some sunshine

Saturday, October 2nd, 2010

I saw blue skies for the first time in week but the rains seem to have slowed things down offshore.  A 31′ private boat sent me a report and they said they fished 30 to 40 miles out today in pouring rain with choppy seas and green water.  There were a few boats offshore today and the guys on the 31′ private boat said everyone got skunked.  The 31′ also fished some near shore rocks and report that was slow as well.  4 or 5 days of rains seems to have caught up with us and made for tough fishing.

Please remember that some of the reports I post can be 3 or 4 days old by the time I get them posted.  We do our best to keep the fishing report current and accurate but when the charter dock is slow it’s not easy to get daily reports.

If you fish anywhere in Costa Rica..private or charter… please send me your fishing reports and photos and I will post them.

September 30, 2010 – Los Suenos fishing

The weather here on the central coast continues to be normal for Sept/Oct.  San Jose in the central valley has been getting lots of rain and is having some flooding problems and I have heard of some coastal towns having some flooding problems but the Herradura, Jaco Hermosa, Esterillos areas haven’t had any problems.

Not many people here in Sept/Oct so the charter docks have been quiet.  The boats that have offshore are still seeing blue marlin, sailfish and tuna.   One of the private boats went out and caught a marlin, a couple sailfish and a handful of yellowfin tuna.

The 28′ center console fished a half day at the 26 rock and caught a handful of wahoo and a handful of  mahi mahi in the 25 pound range.
