Costa Rica Fishing Reports

A group today saw 4 blue Marlin, hooked 3, lost one after about 15 minutes of a fight, released 2 blue Marlin.

A charter raised 8 or 9 blue Marlin, including 2 double headers, had 6 bites, hooked 6 but lost one after about a 20 minute fight. They released 5 blue Marlin.

A group raised 5 blue Marlin but only had 2 bite, released 2.

A group released a blue Marlin and missed a Sail in the morning, then they went inshore and caught a few Snappers and Rainbow Runners.

A good day of fishing started today inshore with a few Snappers, Rainbow Runners and then they headed offshore releasing 1 out of 2 or 3 blue Marlin and 2 for 2 Sailfish, and lots of Bonitos and juvenile Yellowfin Tuna around a free floating fad , but the fish of the day was a monster Cubera Snapper, good 80 pound fish, 52″ fork length. It was released alive to hopefully be caught (and released) again.

Today a group released 1 for 1 Blue Marlin and 3 out of 5 Sailfish.

A group raised today 5 Blue Marlin, 4 bites, hooked 3 caught 2, and 3 out of 5 Sailfish.

A crew went offshore releasing 1 Sail out of a few bites, keeping a 50 + pound Mahi and pulling the hook on a Blue Marlin after a 2 hour fight on a 30 pound line late in the afternoon.

Today was kind of a slow day offshore 1 for 1 on Sails and a nice big Mahi.

Today’s catch a couple Sailfish, 1 for 2 on Blue Marlin, and a couple Mahi.
