The incredible bite that was rumored down Quepos way was verified. The boats that were running the 40-45 miles were releasing double digit Sailfish numbers. Guys like the Dragon Fly and Stephanie Lee were really stroking it…Seeing 40 and 60 Sail per day.

Captain Dave on the “Mimi” was 32 miles out when they caught a huge Yellowfin Tuna…220 pounds…it’s been awhile since anyone I know has caught a pig like that…photos to come.

Then yesterday the bite just stopped. The boats that had been pulling good numbers for days struggled to catch a few fish.

Captain Bill on the “Sailfish” started out good with a Striped Marlin, Sailfish and big Mahi Mahi in the first hour and then nothing…they raised a half dozen more fish but no hook ups…the bite turned soft.

Today was a different story. The bite moved back in to 30 miles and everyone was raising double digit Sailfish.

Captain Bill on the “Sailfish” went 8 for 16 on Sailfish…pretty good for a half day trip.

Captain Tim on the “Tres Amigos” went 12 for 20 on Sailfish…plus a nice Striped Marlin.

The guys on the Iron Trader were rumored to release more than 25 Sailfish today…30 ish miles out.

Captain Dave on the “Missbehavin” went 5 for 10 on Sailfish.

Captain Tom on the “Sweet Dream” was rumored to have a 20 Sailfish day.
