The fishing the past week out of the Los Suenos marina has picked up. There are only a handful of boats going out each day but everyone is catching lots of mahi mahi in the 20-40 pound range and the boats that have gone for sailfish have had some success, there were also some yellowfin tuna caught and a couple marlin sightings.

Captain Jeremy on the R&J went offshore several times this week. One day the fished 10 miles out along a current line and caught a dozen mahi mahi in the 30 pound range and one sailfish. The next day Jeremy went further offshore for sailfish and they went 2 for 5 on sailfish and caught 5 nice mahi mahi…they also missed a blue marlin in the 250 pound range.

The same day that Jeremy caught his sailfish the guys on the Drum Roll released 11 sailfish…they fished about 30 miles to the west of Los Suenos.

I am going out with some friends on the Sailfish tomorrow for a day of offshore fishing. Captain Bill is one of the most consistent sailfish captains in the marina. We have a couple sailfish rookies on boardso hopefully we get a few big ones and some mahi mahi for the grill.
