I want to apologize for the lack of reports this month.  I have spent most of the past 6 weeks back home in Omaha, Nebraska with my family.  My Mom has been fighting cancer for 8 years and her fight ended on Friday night very peacefully in her sleep.  I want to thank everyone that sent emails and called with prayers and support.

My Mom raised 5 kids, took care of my Dad and worked full time as a nurse for as long as I can remember.  Even after being diagnosed with cancer and even when she going through chemotherapy she continued to do volunteer work at the local hospitals.  She never complained, she never gave up and she never ask “why me”.  She carried on with dignity and grace just as she did her entire life.

I think the true measure of good life is how many people you have helped along the way.  Hundreds and hundreds of people continue to offer prayers and support to our family and are truley thankful for the impact my Mom had on their lives.  Mom was a great role model in life and in her death.

There will never be a street named after her and there won’t be a big story in the newspaper about her but to the people that knew her she was a true hero in every sense of the word.

Thanks again.
