September 15, 2009 – Costa Rica Deep sea fishing…HOT bite continues.

My friends and I just got back from a great day of deep sea fishing on our 26′ Seaswirl.  The morning started out cloudy but we didn’t get any rain and the ocean was flat.  We ran out 25 miles to the craters and 6000 feet of water.  Within 30 minutes we had our first sailfish and it never really slowed down.  We raised 20 sailfish, hooked 15 and got 10 to the boat.  We also caught a 15 pound mahi mahi that my maintenance guy and his family will be enjoying tonight.

There was about a half dozen boats out there but only a couple charter boats…it was mostly smaller private boats.   A couple times all 5 or 6 boats were hooked up at the same time…it was like the good old days.

I already have my bags packed for tomorrow and more deep sea fishing.
