November 20, 2009 – Los Suenos Marlin Tournament

My friends and I went out on the 60′ Bertram today…it was sunny and calm and we had action all day long.  We ended the day going 3 for 3 on sailfish with 8 or 9 mahi mahi in the 30 to 40 pound range.  We also came across a shrimp boat and traded them a bucket of sodas and beers and a couple packs of smokes for 3/4 bucket full of jumbo shrimp.  They cooked up some on the boat and we had shrimp cocktail and then we brought a bag home for bacon wrapped shrimp on the grill…lots of good eating tonight.

The 60′ Bertram has direct tv and there is nothing better than watching espn while you are fishing 30 miles offshore with fresh shrimp cocktail…the good life.

The Los Suenos Marlin tournament wrapped up it’s second day and the fishing has been about average.

The Clean Sweep is in the lead with 3 marlin and 7 sailfish, The 42′ maverick with Captain James is in 2nd palce with 3 marlin and 6 sailfish, and another 42′ maverick with Captain Ronnie is in 3rd place with 3 marlin and 4 sailfish.
